A Few Reasons to Drink Beer…
Beer Can Actually Be Good For Your Liver
When you drink alcohol the small blood vessels in the liver expand, causing your metabolism to speed up. This metabolic increase helps clean toxins out of your liver.
Beer Is Known to Decrease Cholesterol Levels
Studies have shown that drinking beer increases your HDL (good cholesterol), which will lower your your LDL (bad cholesterol). Lowering your cholesterol levels will lower your risk of hardening arteries or thickening blood, which are the leading causes of heart attacks.
Beer Has B Vitamins, B6 & B12
A Dutch study conducted at the TNO Nutrition and Food Research Institute showed that people who drink beer on a regular basis have on average 30% more B6 in their blood. And what are these B vitamins good for?
-
Good for metabolism
Interestingly enough B vitamins actually speed up metabolism. So, as long as you don’t overindulge beer can be good for your waistline.
-
One For The Girls
Another benefit is that it increases the health of skin and hair, so drink up ladies!
-
Reduced Risk of Cancer
A very interesting thing about B vitamins is that they reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer. And this is only due to the consumption of the vitamins in food form, not from the pills you can get. Naturally, this would include the pint that should be sitting in front of you so throw one back:)
Now, I’m not suggesting that drinking beer is a cure all, or amazing health remedy. Drinking beer alone will not cure you of cancer or heal you of any other ailment you may be suffering from. But drinking it in moderation does have it’s benefits. Keep in mind, the best way to stay healthy is to drink alcohol in moderation, follow healthy eating habits and get plenty of exercise.
Cheers!
